Today the alarms went off at 7 am for us to wake up. We were all
gathered at the table by 8:00 where we ate breakfast and then
got ready to go. We spent the whole morning from 8:30 to 12:00
teaching at the college to English students level 1 and 5. Then
we came back to the church and ate an amazing lunch of Chow mein.
Then we left at 2:30 mimed up and puppet ready to head to a
little circular park. We got to the park and performed our first
set of puppets and mimes. After the park around 5:30, we loaded
into our bus and took off to head back to the university to
teach a level 2 and 4 English class. We all stayed together and
broke up into small groups where we talked to the Peruvians.
Most people practiced speaking English but some gringos
practiced their Spanish. At 6:45 we headed back to the bus and
took a trip to downtown. We unloaded in “el centro” meaning the
center walkway between the streets and we set up sound and got
the mimes ready. The mimes performed a few skits and then
afterwards Tito gave an alter call. Then we all danced around
for a few minutes and then loaded back into the bus where we
came back to the church and ate dinner. After dinner, we met up
had some worship and the talked about how the trip has been
going so far. Tonight was the first night it has rained since we
have been here but nobody is getting wet yet. It is rather a
heavy mist but it is still pretty strong and cold. After our
discussion, we all broke up and got to do our own things inside
the building until about 12am when we laid down to sleep only to
get up again in 7 hours…
