With performances and construction work behind us, we prepared for a day of shopping! We split into groups and, with a translator, descended upon central Tacna in a flurry of shopping. Brian (one of the US missionaries) told us not to be anxious to buy, but to leave the store and come back and the prices would be lower. He was right. That afternoon, after lunch, we finished packing a night bag for our stay in the Gran Hotel Tacna. After checking in we went out on another shopping excursion to finish buying gifts for our family and others who sponsored us. At dinner we gave toasts to our memories as we did the year before, after which we were able to enjoy hot, fully pressured showers and comfortable beds.
