Like the Monday before, we split into three teams again and returned to our construction sites. Most everyone was involved in some sort of cement mixing and laying. Some of us continued the other projects we were already working on. That afternoon we performed in “Satan’s Den” (as Mark now refers to it). The place was crowded with people, an opportune place for us to perform. The downside of this location was that there were a lot of thieves here. Not only was Phil’s bag stolen (containing his passport, cd player and walkie talkies), but Tito’s van was also broken into. His son’s backpack (containing his travel documents to get back into Chile) was also stolen. Despite this, many people acknowledged their need for Christ here, and Mark later told us that some sort of news broadcaster was in the area and commented on our “professional” performance. We then gathered together back at Ciudad Nueva in a large group and lifted up Phil’s passport and situation in prayer. For “once” that night the leaders left for Tito and Patty’s house to talk about the ministry there and various needs while the rest of the team had some free time to catch up on devotionals, play games, sleep, etc.
