The day was almost a repeat of what happened the previous Saturday. We started by getting up early to help serve breakfast to the local children in both Ciudad Nueva and Nueva Jersualen. Those who served in Nueva Jerusalen the week before stayed in Ciudad Nueva while those who served in CN went to NJ. Breakfast consisted of chocolate milk and bread with manjar and butter. After breakfast, around 10, we put mime makeup on any member of the team who wanted to wear it. Our church in CN was hosting a game day with the kids, and they wanted the white faces to help draw in the kids. We helped keep order, create spirit, and bring a little more fun to the festivities. After lunch we gathered our remaining energies and prepared for a presentation in Cono Sur, a city where the church does activities with the kids but does not yet have a church planted. (Last year our El Diablo character was mobbed by the kids here.) The city is quite cold, but the kids were warmly receptive to the messages we were giving through our puppet and mime skits. After that we helped the Spanish leaders conduct the activity/craft with the kids. Cold and tired, we got back into taxis and Tito’s van and headed for the Tacna Central church where the mimes were slated to do another performance. Mark spoke that night using four of our mime skits to teach.
