Breakfast was at 7:30 because the church here serves breakfast to children in the local area. Some of us went to Nueva Jersualen, another church like the one here in Ciudad Nueva. We experienced poverty first hand and helped serve the children breakfast (consisting of a cup of a hot soupy substance, sometimes corn based, sometimes oat based and one or two pieces of bread with either manjar or butter on it). Later that morning we went to the Senior’s Home we visited last year and had our first presentation (as they like to call it here). We learned a lot from this experience. That afternoon, we all went to Nueva Jersualen and gave another performance however this one had a slight twist: we had no electricity – they had been without power since 11AM that morning. Just when the sun was going down the power miraculously came on and we were able to do the activity/craft with the kids. As if we hadn’t done enough that day, we also participated in Culto.com, their high school/college aged ministry.
